2 quick language updates

I'm starting to make a bit more sense, verbally that is.......

I say "more"a lot!  Whenever something is cool, and I want more of it, I say "more."  But, the way I say it makes mommy and daddy laugh.......it is more like "mu-oar."  Think of me having a thick drawn out New York accent.

Did you know babies cry a lot?  Spencer sure does.  So, I'd like him to stop.  I just say "off."  OFF.  OFF!!!
It doesn't work.  I don't know why.  When I say "off" mommy or daddy turn off the lights........guess it doesn't work the same with babies.

Hmmmmm

Pumpkin Patches, A New Wagon and GG/Too Too's Visit

It has been a busy two weeks.  I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm a bit jealous that mommy is having to share her time with my brother Spencer, who won't seem to leave her "boob" (yes, I am now saying boob).  I've been spotted in the living room, bathroom, on the sidewalk and many other places looking longingly saying "mommmmm."  It's OK though, I'll just keep finding her and climbing up on her lap.

Fortunately, I do love Spencer, and just want to smooch him and help him find his way.  He cries a bit, and I really don't like it much.  Also, GG and Too Too (Mr. Too has been renamed by me) were here the past two weeks, so I got to spend time with them.  We played, walked, read, Too and I went through my tunnel together and in the wagon together.  I'll give GG credit, for all of this talk about her knees and back, she was a champ with picking me up and sitting on the floor and everything else I made her do.

I understand everything going on around this place.  I know when mom and dad are frustrated with me (for pulling out the DVD's or throwing food on the floor or not listening (I hear them)), and when that happens, I just smile or laugh and for good measure will tilt my head a little and give a wave.  I'm so cute, it is hard for them to keep from laughing.

Also, I've taken to trying to stand up on the changing table, which daddy really doesn't like very much.

Oh, but I've started helping daddy in the bath with washing myself.  I'm a big help.  Also, I can help (if I want to) with wiping my hands after meals.  I love ELMO and Firetrucks are still super cool!

Mommy and me in the backyard blowing bubbles.

I'm learning to help daddy with the gardening.  I really like the watering can, and the side yard.

Too Too was first learning about the tunnel.  He soon followed me in, then I found him from the outside as well.  Dogs are fun!

GG helped with my bathtime on many nights.  I am using new conditioner that smells really good.

GG celebrated her 60th birthday with us.  We went out and got her new cool "moon pie" extreme deserts.  I wanted her to try the red velvet.

WOW!  So many pumpkins.  We have arrived at the pumpkin patch.

These pumpkins are bigger than me.  I could spend a week here.  This place is awesome.

OK, my favourite part of the pumpkin patch has got to be this big cool red tractor.  Daddy said I could drive it.......

You all better get out of my way......

We're a family, a family.....on a farm.....better get up early to tend to the crops.......

Hmmm, I do love corn, but I am perplexed as to this variety.  It is very pretty.

We're a family, a family.....dressed up like farmers......
Hope someone (GG) is watching Spencer.  He's too little to participate.

I found a good one.  Let's get this one.  OK?

Oh, my first train ride at the farmer's market.  It was super.  GG went on with me, and we went all around the block.  I think I want to do this every week.

Thanks for coming to visit GG.  I really had a good time.  I hope you did too.

I promise (we'll see) to be a good boy for mommy now that she has to take care of me and my brother on her own.  I love you mommy.

Fall 2011 - My First Week With Spencer

Wow - I get a new baby brother (have I mentioned that I am a BIG BROTHER) and Daddy has been home for two weeks straight.  This has been so cool.  Mommy, Daddy, Spencer and I have spent so much time together.

One of my current favourite things is to have daddy "lie down" (which I am saying) on my playmat, then I jump up and down on top of him.  He is so funny.  We have been taking lots and lots of walks (in the neighborhood and to Starbucks, where daddy and mommy share a venti iced decaf soy vanilla latte, no whip, and then I get to play with the dregs in the cup.  Plus, I'm walking a lot and having fun with daddy on the grass in the front lawn.

I am trying to get as much "mommy time" as possible.  A bit challenging, but at least I can smooch Spencer's feet when mommy is holding him.

Monkey is still my best friend.  He is in a diaper until we are both potty trained.  Mommy and Daddy seem to really like some of the sounds, words, and singing I am doing these days.  Bert and Ernie and I sing along together every morning, and I love "daddddddd-en" and "mommmmmmm" a lot!  :)

Here are some pics from the last week:

Here's my new doggie hat.  I'm so cute (and a bit of a ham!)

Did I mention our Starbucks walks (runs).  Don't worry, no caffeine, plus, all I really care about is the cool cup and straw.  Howard Schultz, put me on the board!

Nature is fun.  I've been rolling around on the grass, and picking up dead magnolia flowers on my walks.  I sit on the sidewalk and use them as drum sticks.

Here is me, with "my generation" and the ladies in our lives.  A nice group of people to be around.

Speaking of nice ladies, here is my favourite lady.  I call her "mommmmmm" and I call her that often (just ask "dadddd-en").  Of course, I am starting to have some 'tude these days, as evidenced by my expression, and the food on the wall near the kitchen table.

My room is so much fun.  I put this ball in my tunnel and crawl in after it, until it comes out the other side.  Sometimes, Daddy is there to stop it and me.....funny daddy.

This was from Spencer and my first outing, to the farmers market.  I always look over to make sure he is OK.  After all, I am the big brother!

Welcome Spencer Jeremy Ames!

The official First Birth Picture of Spencer

I, Cameron Bryce Ames, dedicate this posting to the birth of my new little brother, Spencer Jeremy.  Last Tuesday morning I woke up, and Grammy and T were here.  Hmmmmm.  Should have known something was up.....the bump on mommy's belly that she kept calling "baby" was getting bigger, and then suddenly, I wake up to different faces.

Anyway, I'm glad to have a new brother, I think.  I have given him some smooches, as you'll see below, and was very happy to see him in the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.  Now then, I am a bit jealous, as evidenced by my increased clingy-to mommy, and my tantrums with daddy as he tries to "brusha brusha" and put me in the bath each night.  But, mommy and daddy keep saying that I'll love having a little brother.......to torture and torment......haha!!!

This is one of my first shots with Spencer.  I'm asking mommy if I can give him some of my cookie.  See, trying to share already.

I do understand that mommy and daddy love Spencer, so guess I should too.  After all, my parents are always right.  This is a capturing of my first smooch.  He is so little and soft.  He has to wear funny hats all of the time.

Mommy is so funny.  She makes me laugh.  Just a relaxing moment for the three of us in the hospital room.

Aah, daddy was there too.  He looks like he had to sleep on a chair.  Funny, I think he did have to sleep on a chair (it did pull out).   Monkey is my best friend right now.  I love him very much.  Monkey loves Spencer too (but he loves me more).

All 5 of us (including monkey) sat down for a nice reading of The Gruffalo, still one of my favourite books, so we could spend some quality time together.

I think this picture sums it up.  I was given a new airplane (which broke when I got home), and this great book called, "I'm a Big Brother."  It is a very good book, along with "Grover Takes Care of Baby."

But, as you can see, my first thought is to eat the baby.....mommy says that isn't an option.  Harumph.

Daddy wanted me to mention that he thinks the noises and words I say are super cute.  "Ohhh noooo" is the best one.   We also do "it's not too hot, it's not too cold, it's JUST RIGHT."  Oh, and I can point out things I want and things I like.  It's good to be growing up!

The Final Countdown

Hi everybody.  Well, it has been a busy couple of weeks, culminating (big word for a little guy, I know) in my brother's birth this past Tuesday.  The baby bump I am smooching here has become a real live boy.  So cool.  Here are some shots in the time leading up to this big milestone.

Here are daddy and I on the beach at Paradise Cove in Malibu before celebrating mommy and uncle andy's birthdays.

I like my nakie-ness.  Nakie baby on the loose after a day in the pool.

Last Sunday, I rode on my first horse.  Yes, this was two days before my brother was born and I have a strong suspicion my parents were trying to cram in the activities.

My new top activity is bouncing on mommy and daddys bed.  I'm a happy bouncy 20 month old!

The next post will be exciting!!! :)
